CASE STUDY
Alexandra Buildings

R. G. Parkins & Partners Ltd acted as Planning Supervisor for this prestigious new build / refurbishment contract in an enclosed site in Windermere. The project involved the partial demolition of an existing traditional warehousing development, the construction of a new showpiece store and the re-development of their existing office space.
The Client’s requirement for continued use of the retail and office space during site works presented a challenge that was successfully met by the multi-disciplinary project team, with R. G. Parkins & Partners Ltd providing an essential and effective advisory role on the key health & safety risk management matters.
Although undertaken under the old CDM Regulations, the fundamental principles and intent of health and safety management have changed little.
Elements of the project included:
- Site investigation
- Asbestos management
- Working near railways
- Demolition
- Client and public overlap with site works
- Restricted site area compounding construction difficulties
