Maritime work in the Northwest

Whilst the construction industry has felt the pinch of recession in the North West, the maritime field appears to remain reasonably buoyant (no pun intended!)  An on-going project in the Port of Liverpool continues to roll-on and the second round of intensive site investigations has been successfully completed in anticipation of completion of plans and designs for new deep water access – (see the geotechnics website).  The sun is also shining on the Port of Barrow which is colourful and vibrant with all the work associated with the offshore wind farms under development.  R. G. Parkins & Partners Ltd have been involved in various projects associated with this development and are currently involved in the stabilisation of one of the old stone quay walls in the port itself - watch this space!

The photo at the top of the page is of Alexandra Dock, Liverpool. The photos below show Barrow Ramsden Dock and Walney Channel-Belfast Berth.

Anyone with an interest in this part of the world may also like to look at a fantastic BBC article published recently on Three Steps to Build a Windfarm.
